Free graduate student workshop: Transitioning to career, understanding employee benefits

Submitted by Christyne Stephenson

Entering the workforce after graduate school can be an exciting process, but it also can be a confusing one as well. Not only does one have to compare salary offers, but also benefits packages. It can be tricky navigating job offers to determine what's the best fit.

Join Powercat Financial Counseling from 1-2 p.m. March 27 in the K-State Student Union's Sunflower Room as we discuss how to make the transition smoother and what factors to consider when evaluating job offers.

This workshop is the second part of a three-part series of graduate student financial education workshops provided by K-State's Powercat Financial Counseling as part of a grant from the Council of Graduate Schools funded from TIAA-CREF.

Students can win the following prizes for participation in these events

  • $25 gift card for the first 50 in attendance to each event
  • Additional entry for $100-$500 gift cards for each event attended after taking the financial quiz sent by email later in the semester
  • Entry to win an iPad mini for attending all three and taking the quiz
