Architectural engineering students win local chapter scholarships

Submitted by Mary Rankin

Two Kansas State University architectural engineering students have been awarded scholarships from the Kansas City area chapter of ASHRAE.

Christine Laflin, junior, has been awarded the $3,000, 2017 Kansas City Chapter Past President Scholarship; and Trevyn Sell, the $1,000, 2017 Kansas City Chapter Scholarship.

They will receive the awards at Student Night, which takes place at the chapter's monthly meeting in March in Kansas City.

Laflin and Sell also were recently announced as national ASHRAE scholarship winners.

ASHRAE is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The society and its more than 56,000 members worldwide focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability.
