Informative notification to encourage community vigilance

Multiple departments at Kansas State University have received reports that an individual unaffiliated with the university and using various aliases has engaged in threatening and harassing conduct toward members of the university community. The misconduct is directed specifically toward female students in off-campus or online settings, occurring in person, by phone and digitally, including social media.
Please be vigilant and attentive when sharing your contact information with others and when unknown persons attempt to message you on social media. The university encourages close review of security and privacy settings on digital devices and social media applications. Individuals may wish to consider turning off their location sharing.
