Welcome, Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs)!

We at the TLC are here to help you succeed. On this page, you will find helpful services and resources for you both as a student and as an instructor. Please reach out to us if we can assist you in any way.

GTA Orientation

Prior to the start of each semester, we offer a GTA Orientation to help prepare you for the roles and responsibilities that are often associated with GTA positions. Typically, this orientation is hosted the week before classes start. Information regarding GTA Orientation will be posted here and disseminated via the K-State Grad School. The Fall 2022 GTA Orientation will be held on Thursday, August 18th from 8am-12pm in Rathbone Hall Room 1073 (Paslay Auditorium).

EDCI 943: Principles of College Teaching

Each semester, we offer a course called "Principles of College Teaching" (EDCI 943) that is available to graduate students with teaching responsbilities. Regardless of students’ teaching experience, this course is designed to help students think about teaching and learning at the college and university level while providing opportunities to develop such skills. For more information, contact Dr. Don Saucier at saucier@ksu.edu. We hope to see you in class soon!

Resources

One of our favorite resources that factulty, staff, and graduate students can benefit from is our Professional Development (PD) Series. We offer this free series every semester. For information regarding upcoming events and past events, please visit those webpages, respectively. If you attend a certain number of PD events within a given academic year, you may be elegible for the TLC PD Certificate. Requirements for this certificate are available on our PD Series page.
In addition to the PD Series, there are many resources are available to you in our TLC Library in 206 Anderson Hall. Check out our new Teaching and Learning Online Library system.
