Reporting an Incident of Hazing

Report

If you or someone is in danger, please call 911.

All incidents of hazing should be reported to Student Support & Accountability (SSA). This can be done via email, phone, or the Hazing Incident Reporting form.

To reach a staff member of SSA directly, you can email studentsupport@ksu.edu or call during business hours at 785-532-6432.

Campus police can also be reached directly at 785-532-6412.

Members of the K-State community are highly encouraged to review the K-State ‘Report It’ website, which features available reporting forms at the university.

Reporting Considerations

All are encouraged to report concerns of hazing as soon as possible. Accurate and detailed information is encouraged in order for the university to best be able to address and enforce policy.

The university does accept anonymous reports. Please note the university's ability to follow-up with the source of the information is important. Anonymous reports may make it difficult to complete a full investigation and apply the university policy.

Retaliation is a violation of the Student Organization Conduct Code and Process for Discipline. Students concerned about retaliation as a result of reporting an incident should contact Student Support & Accountability.

Hazing Investigation Process

The Student Organization Conduct Code and Process for Discipline outlines the various investigation and procedures conducted by Student Support & Accountability. Upon receiving a report, an initial review of the report will be conducted to determine next steps. This may include follow up with the reporting party, campus partners, etc. After initial fact finding, the Director of Conduct or designee will initiate applicable procedures as outlined in the Student Organization Conduct Code and Process for Discipline. If the incident is determined to be individual in nature, the case may be referred through the Student Code of Conduct process.
