Did you know that you can start earning incremental college scholarships, also known as micro-scholarships, your freshman year of high school by signing up for the Kansas State University RaiseMe program? When you create your online portfolio, you can start logging your grades, classes, extracurricular activities and other college prep experiences to track your progress toward K-State scholarships, all the way up to your senior year of high school.
Here are just a few ways you can earn a micro-scholarship:
- Participate in an extracurricular activity
- Get an A in a core course
- Maintain a high GPA
- Attend a college fair or other off-campus event with K-State

- Score well on the ACT or SAT
About the program
K-State has partnered with RaiseMe to help eligible high school students in grades 9-12 track their personal and academic progress and start earning micro-scholarships. These awards are performance-based scholarships that are earned for achievements both inside and outside the classroom, including excellent grades, volunteering, participation in extracurricular activities, and ACT/SAT scores.
Raise Me offers high school students the opportunity to quantify their leadership in high school and their community, achieving good grades, taking challenging courses, and participating in extracurricular activities.

Who can use RaiseMe?
U.S. high school students in grades 9-11 can create RaiseMe profiles. U.S. students entering the 12th grade must finalize their profile by Dec. 1.
How do I get started?
Start by creating an online account through RaiseMe. Once the account is established, you should follow K-State and add individual achievements, including grades, extracurricular activities, volunteer experiences, and leadership positions.
Is there a cost to use RaiseMe?
RaiseMe is free to use for high school students and high schools. The program costs are paid by charitable foundations, colleges and other funders.
How do I receive these scholarships from K-State?
You must finalize your profile on RaiseMe by Dec. 1 of your senior year and complete K-State's application for admission your senior year by the priority application date.
I'm past 9th grade. Can I add things I achieved earlier in high school?
Yes! You can retroactively add achievements to your high school portfolio, going back to the start of your freshman year. You will be eligible to earn scholarships as if you had been using RaiseMe since 9th grade. A reminder that seniors must finalize by Dec. 1.
Do I have to use RaiseMe to receive K-State scholarships?
No. Participation in RaiseMe is not mandatory to receive a K-State scholarship. It is a tracking tool to show your progress toward earning a K-State award. You will not hurt your chances of receiving funding from K-State, if you decide not to use RaiseMe.
Can I combine RaiseMe scholarships with other K-State scholarships?
The final total earnings on RaiseMe represent the guaranteed minimum amount of institutional aid you will receive from K-State. Institutional aid may be scholarships or grants. For non-resident students, institutional aid also includes tuition savings awarded through waivers such as the Missouri Tuition Match Program, Midwest Student Exchange Program and the Founders Non-Resident Merit Award.
