In addition to general university scholarships and awards, freshmen have the following scholarships opportunities available to them at K-State:
Test-optional scholarships and awards
K-State offers its general university scholarships and awards without the need for ACT/SAT scores for students who do not want their score(s) considered in their scholarship review. A supplemental application is required for consideration.
Competitive scholarship awardees are selected by committees who review additional supplemental application materials and/or administer a selective interview process.
Many of the opportunities below may be applied for in the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN) system, which connects students directly to additional scholarship opportunities outside of general university awards and competitive awards. Students will not have access to KSN until they are admitted to the university.
Read each award carefully, though, as some still do require supplemental applications.

Description: Students who complete an International Baccalaureate or AP Capstone diploma upon graduation may be eligible for consideration.
Eligibility: Students are eligible for consideration with proof of completion of an International Baccalaureate or AP Capstone diploma upon graduation. Provide diploma documentation to Student Financial Assistance at finaid@k-state.edu.
Description: Students who participate in the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science are eligible for a one-time supplemental scholarship in addition to any academic or leadership award. Be sure to indicate your involvement at the Academy of Mathematics and Science on the K-State Scholarship application.
Eligibility: Participation in the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science.
Alumni/Legacy scholarships
These are awards offered through K-State alumni clubs and programs, as well as an award specifically for students who have an eligible family member who is a K-State Alumni Association member.
Regional alumni clubs and Catbacker clubs offer many scholarships.
Scholarship money raised by alumni clubs and Catbacker clubs is supplemented with contributions from the Alumni Association and the Col. Gayle Foster Scholarship fund.
The Wabash CannonBall Scholarship provides scholarships for high school seniors, who plan to attend K-State. To be eligible, you must be a high school senior from the Kansas City area, Colorado, Houston or North Texas.
For students whose parent, step-parent, grandparent or legal guardian is a K-State graduate, the university scholarship committee awards a limited number of Alumni Association Legacy Scholarships.
Preference is given to students who have an eligible family member who is an Alumni Association member. Legacy Scholarships are funded through the K-State License Plate Program.
This scholarship can be applied for via the K-State Scholarship Network after you are admitted to the university.
College/Departmental scholarships
Many academic colleges and departments also offer several unique scholarship awards. You can apply for academic college/departmental scholarships/awards via the K-State Scholarship Network after you are admitted to the university.
