Scholarship Renewal Information
2021 - 2022
The annual scholarship/award renewal review begins following the posting of Spring 2022 grades. Nearly all centrally awarded scholarships/awards are be eligible to renew with a 3.0 cumulative K-State GPA. Three scenarios for centrally awarded scholarships represent an exception to this rule. They are:
- The Distinguished University Scholar award that was awarded to select, incoming students for the 2019-20 academic year. The cumulative K-State GPA requirement for this scholarship will continue to require a minimum of a 3.5. However, if a recipient of this scholarship has earned at least a 3.00 to 3.49 cumulative K-State GPA, they will be automatically reclassified from the Distinguished University Scholar award to the University Scholar award. While this reclassification may result in a lower scholarship value, it protects the recipient from a complete loss of a central scholarship support. The scholarship reclassification will be permanent.
- The Putnam Scholarship will continue to require a 3.5 cumulative K-State GPA to be eligible to renew.
- The Presidential Scholarship will continue to require a 3.5 cumulative K-State GPA to be eligible to renew.
Scholarships/awards made to new, incoming students beginning in 2019-2020 and later also require the completion of 24 K-State credit hours each year (12 Fall/12 Spring).
Scholarships/awards made to new, incoming students in 2018-2019 and prior, do not have a credit hour requirement associated with their renewal.
If it is determined that a scholarship/award recipient failed to meet the renewal standards at the conclusion of the Spring term, the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) will send out an e-mail notification to the student's official K-State e-mail account to this effect.
You may review the renewal criteria associated with centrally awarded scholarships via our Renewal Question/Answer Discussion on this topic.
If you have been notified that you failed to meet your scholarship's renewal requirements, you may file an appeal premised on extenuating circumstances you encountered during the academic year that prevented you from meeting the renewal requirements. Please review and submit a Scholarship Appeal Form (pdf) to begin the appeal process.
