FAFSA Priority Date

Like many other colleges and universities, Kansas State University establishes a FAFSA Priority Date each academic year. Although the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be completed at any time, students who submit by the priority date are given preferred consideration for certain need-based financial aid programs that have limited funding. For instance, to be fully considered for K-State’s Land Grant Promise program, students must file their FAFSA by the designated FAFSA Priority Date each year.

2026-27 FAFSA Priority Date

The 2026-27 FAFSA Priority Date is December 1, 2025. The 2026-27 application will be available in October 1, 2025.

2025-26 FAFSA Priority Date

The 2025-26 FAFSA Priority Date is March 1, 2025. K-State chose to keep the date in March, since the 2025-26 FAFSA would not become available until December 2024.
