Connecting K-State scholars: Building bridges through collaboration

Collaboration and innovation drive groundbreaking research and scholarship, and Kansas State University is reinforcing these ideals through a new initiative. Beginning in spring 2025, the Office of the Vice President for Research launched a series of networking events aimed at fostering interdisciplinary connections, sparking new ideas and celebrating the university's broad community of creativity and scholarship.

Theme: Food as Medicine — This theme explores the powerful connection between diet, health and disease prevention. Researchers examine how nutrition influences physical and mental well-being, from the biochemical effects of nutrients to community-based approaches that promote healthier eating. Research in this area highlights innovations in medical nutrition therapy, functional foods, and food systems that support long-term health outcomes.
