Travel, acceleration and planning grants

Travel, Acceleration and Planning Grants

New funding is being made available from the Office of the Vice President for Research to assist faculty in research planning and large grant development. The new Travel, Acceleration and Planning, or TAP, grants provide funding for:

  1. Travel within the U.S. to meet with agency or foundation personnel.
  2. Travel within the U.S. to meet with collaborators at other institutions for proposal development meetings.
  3. Support for potential co-investigators at other institutions to travel to K-State for proposal development meetings.
  4. Faculty and/or staff support for large center-level grant development.

The process for requesting TAP funds is designed to be simple and fast. The OVPR’s goal is to provide response to TAP funding requests within one week of receiving a properly filed request.

A faculty member can only receive one TAP-1 grant per academic year. TAP-2, 3, and 4 grants are evaluated on the basis of their merits, strategic value and potential for success. TAP-4 grants must be led by a faculty member who can demonstrate evidence of successful leadership of a large team pursuing center-level funding.
