Transfer Courses
Students that transfer courses will work closely with the K-State Transfer Team. Their webpage has a lot of information related to how the courses are evaluated as K-State courses. Once the team receives your transcript, the courses are loaded one by one into the courses - transfer menu. Here courses are associated with an institution and an articulation rule.
Once courses are loaded, the transfer evaluation process is run. During this process, the transfer course is processed through the articulation rule that was set. The outcome of the process is the K-State equivalent version of the course.
Not all courses will have a direct equivalent K-State course. For example, an art class taken at a community college may transfer to K-State as ART -2:01. While this course is not a direct equivalent, it can be considered a 200 level ART course if the dean's office agrees with the articulation. In other cases, there may be no association. These courses may transfer as TRNSF0001. The transfer evaluation team can use the advanced functions of TES to quickly varify that the articulation is truly accurate. Once the courses are evaluated, the data will be loaded into KSIS. Additionally, users can view the K-State equivalencies under the courses - home page.
At the bottom of each audit, users will find a Transfer Course Analysis that picks up all transfered courses and helps identify whether the course is degree applicable.
