Parking Garage

The Parking Garage is a multi-level facility located on K-State's Manhattan campus, providing convenient access to the K-State Student Union. It offers preferred and reserved parking stalls for students, faculty, and staff, while timed parking is available for visitors and events. The garage serves as a central hub for parking services and is equipped with amenities such as pay stations, ADA-compliant elevators, and on-site staff to assist visitors.

Students, faculty, and staff can purchase preferred and reserved parking stalls from the Parking Services Office, which is located on the ground floor in the southwest corner of the Parking Garage. The costs are prorated and will expire when your permit does. If you have already purchased a surface lot permit, its cost can be deducted from the price of a preferred or reserved parking stall.

Preferred Stalls

Preferred parking stall permits guarantee access to the garage from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Access outside of these hours is based on stall availability. Preferred parking stall permits can also be used in the surface lots designated on the permit. The annual cost for a preferred parking permit is $480.

Reserved Stalls

Reserved parking stall permits offer 24-hour access and guarantee a reserved stall in the garage. Similar to the preferred permit, reserved parking stall permits can be used in the surface lots specified on the permit. The annual cost for a reserved parking permit is $720.

The parking stalls in the garage are broken into four categories:

  • Student preferred stalls: 500
  • Faculty and staff preferred stalls: 400
  • Public timed stalls: 270
  • Reserved stalls: 130

HonkMobile

K-State has partnered with HonkMobile to simplify parking payment, eliminating the need to return to feed the meter. You can pay for parking in three different ways using the HonkMobile smartphone app, scanning a QR code or sending a text message.

Pay with the app

  1. Download and Sign Up: Download the free app from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account using your phone number and email address.
  2. Add Vehicle and Payment: Enter your license plate number and a payment method (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal). You can save multiple vehicles and payment methods.
  3. Select Zone and Time: Once parked, open the app and select the Zone ID. Zone IDs are located on signs in the parking garage and stickers on the parking meters.
  4. Pay and Park: Select the duration of your parking session, then confirm payment.
  5. Extend Session: If you need more time, you can extend your session directly from your phone without returning to your car.

Scan-to-Park

  1. Scan QR Code: Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code on the parking meter.
  2. Open Link: Tap the link that appears to open a browser-based guest checkout page.
  3. Enter Details: Enter your license plate number, select the duration and enter payment information.
  4. Confirm: Ensure you reach the "success" screen to confirm your session is active.

Text-to-Pay

  1. Text: Send a text to 75498 and enter the Zone ID.
  2. Enter Details: Follow the SMS prompts to enter your license plate and pay for parking instantly.
