There has been a tremendous response to the university-wide NSF Smart & Connected Communities team development planning meetings with over 40 faculty participating to date. The next meeting will be held in the College of Engineering’s Ice Conference Room, Wednesday, June 19, 2:30-4:30 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom option is available:

The meeting will begin with information and Q&A from two K-State faculty who have expertise with the NSF S&CC program. Dr. Bala Natarajan and Dr. Landon Marston will share their experiences with the S&CC program along with advice and tips for preparing a competitive proposal.
Please come prepared to share your research questions and project ideas. Topic areas identified to date include (but are not limited to):

- Smart Homes
- Disaster Responses
- Big Data
For those unable to participate in Wednesday's meeting please go to the K-State’s S&CC proposal development site for more information about participating faculty as well the opportunity for new participants to add their information, potential resources, and select the topic area of interest. In particular the “S&CC_Contact List_Assets_Theme” spreadsheet can be added to and updated by participants at any time with relevant information and contributions or resources faculty can provide related to teaming efforts. Potential collaborators from across K-State can also be identified.
NSF S&CC letters of intent are due August 6, followed by full proposals on September 6.
