Anthropology alum and author Jordan Thomas to visit
“The Art of Writing: A Narrative Nonfiction Workshop”

Hosted by the Departments of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work and English and the Chapman Center for Rural Studies
Dr. Jordan Thomas, a 2025 National Book Award finalist and 2016 K-State anthropology alum, will return to campus to lead a workshop in storytelling and narrative non-fiction writing. It will be framed by his vignettes about the writing process and discussions of best practices in narrative storytelling. The public is invited to this free event.
Dr. Thomas, an anthropologist and former Los Padres “Hotshot” wildland firefighter, wrote the celebrated nonfiction book, When It All Burns: Fighting Fire in a Transformed World.
