College Town Hall/Faculty Meetings
For at least this semester, we are adding a Town Hall to our monthly faculty meetings. All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend as we’ll address college visions, goals and plans as they develop during this transitional time. (During the “faculty meeting” portion, only faculty who are eligible to vote in Faculty Senate elections may vote.)
All of the below meetings will be at 106 Kedzie Hall and accessible via Zoom. They will not be recorded.

Flint Hills Military History Symposium
Sept. 25-27 | K-State Manhattan and Eisenhower Museum in Abilene
This year’s theme is Alliance & Coalition Warfare: Enduring Challenges in Multinational Campaigns. Events will again take place at K-State Student Union and other locations in Manhattan as well as at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Museum in Abilene. View the website for more details.
Writing workshop to be offered by anthropology alum Jordan Thomas
“The Art of Writing: A Narrative Nonfiction Workshop”
Sept. 29 | 1-3:15 p.m. | Hale Library, Hemisphere Room
Hosted by the Departments of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work and English and the Chapman Center for Rural Studies
Dr. Jordan Thomas, a 2025 National Book Award finalist and 2016 K-State anthropology alum, will return to campus to lead a workshop in storytelling and narrative non-fiction writing. It will be framed by his vignettes about the writing process and discussions of best practices in narrative storytelling. All K-Staters and the community are invited to this free event.
Dr. Thomas, an anthropologist and former Los Padres “Hotshot” wildland firefighter, wrote the celebrated nonfiction book, When It All Burns: Fighting Fire in a Transformed World.
ArtSci Drop-By

Enjoy some relaxed socializing with friends, colleagues and college leadership at this informal gathering for all Arts and Sciences faculty and staff. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided and JP’s bar will be open. This is the only ArtSci Drop-By scheduled for this fall.

- Sept. 21 – Census: 20th Day Deadline for changing Fall ’26 program/plan
- Sept. 28 – Last Day to Drop Classes, no ‘W’ on transcript (16-wk classes)
