Nominate a colleague for Roots of Research award
The College of Arts and Sciences is a research driver. Let's nominate some of our outstanding faculty members for a Roots of Research award. Any K-Stater may submit a nomination by completing the Qualtrics form by 11:59 p.m. Nov. 1.
Awardees will be announced in December. They will be honored at a spring ceremony, receive a plaque, and have a tree planted in their name on the Manhattan campus during One K-State Research Week, April 26-30, 2027.
Applied Learning Experiences offers monthly Community of Learning events
Help students live what they learn. Explore strategies for effectively implementing Applied Learning Experiences. Whether you are new to applied learning or want to refine the work you already do, this collaborative space provides the tools, insights and support you need. The next session will by at noon-1 p.m. Thu., Oct. 15, in 201 Leadership Studies Bldg. It will include discussion of strategies for addressing the logistical and resource challenges of providing ALEs. Please RSVP by Oct. 9.

Get a professional-looking headshot for your unit's website or your LinkedIn account or some other use with the Iris photo booth at the Career Center. It is available to all K-Staters, including faculty and staff members, and no appointment is needed. Just show up during the center's open hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Undergraduate Research Awards available
Interested in mentoring a student researcher? Encourage students to apply for $1,500 College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Awards for semester-long, faculty-mentored research or creative projects. These awards are offered in fall, spring and summer. The application deadline for spring support is Nov. 1.
