Next-Gen K-State procurement initiative advances with pilot groups, new Wildcat OneBuy platform

The Next-Gen K-State procurement initiative is moving into its next phase with the introduction of Wildcat OneBuy, Kansas State University's new procurement platform, and the selection of pilot groups to begin testing the system ahead of its universitywide launch in Feb. 2027.

Wildcat OneBuy will bring purchasing, contracting and payment activities together in a single cloud-based platform for users across the university. As a key component of K-State’s budget transformation initiative, the procurement work is helping modernize university systems and infrastructure while achieving operational excellence as One K-State. Wildcat OneBuy will replace six university systems with one platform built for long-term scalability.

All K-State faculty and staff will have access to Wildcat OneBuy and its marketplace. Users can browse contract-based catalogs, compare prices and place orders or assign purchases to designated buyers in their department or unit, all through a simple checkout process. Suppliers of all sizes have teamed up with the university to offer a wide range of products at negotiated prices. Users can expect fewer administrative steps and more streamlined workflows.
