October Water Wednesday connects experts, ideas and water challenges

The Kansas Water Institute will host its next Water Wednesday luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 14. Faculty, staff and students are invited to join this professional development and networking opportunity focused on tackling complicated water issues and identifying the diverse expertise available at Kansas State University.

"Many of today's water issues extend beyond any single discipline," said Susan Metzger, director of the Kansas Water Institute. "Water Wednesday provides an opportunity to thoughtfully explore emerging topics and connect with colleagues who bring different perspectives and expertise."

This month's Water Wednesday will be in Hale Library, Room 181. Participants will explore timely water-related topics, including data centers, urban drought response and municipal water quality, while learning how to identify expertise across the university using the Wildcat Scholar platform. The session will also cover strategies for responding to media inquiries and connecting experts across disciplines to address complex water challenges.

Interested individuals are invited to RSVP online. All K-State faculty, staff and students are welcome, but space is limited to the first 60 registrants. A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Kansas Water Institute hosts Water Wednesday events each month, aiming to facilitate meaningful exchanges and showcase impactful research. The full Water Wednesday schedule is available on the Kansas Water Institute website. To request additional information, contact water@k-state.edu.
