New professional development resource now available to all faculty and staff
Under the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan, Kansas State University has reaffirmed its commitment to being an employer of choice in Kansas and higher education.
Investing in the development and growth of faculty and staff is an important part of this effort, as we see through the university’s ongoing Compensation Study initiative, the one-time performance-based merit bonuses planned for this fall, the myriad of professional development opportunities offered by the Office of the Provost, Human Resources and other units across the institution — and even new and exciting opportunities to enhance and support our work, such as through the recently announced partnership with Atom Grants to power faculty funding discovery.
Yet another opportunity supporting robust, hands-on professional development for faculty and staff is now available: A new partnership with Academic Impressions, a provider of leadership and organizational development resources created specifically for colleges and universities.
Through the Academic Impressions partnership, all faculty and staff now have access to:
- My Path, which acts as your membership home base. My Path tracks what you’ve completed, points you toward next steps, keeps your bookmarks, in-progress courses, upcoming events and assigned trainings in one place.
- Sophia, an in-the-moment leadership coach, to help you with specific challenges when you most need it.
- Leadership Insights, the Academic Impressions leadership newsletter. This newsletter offers practical leadership strategies and reflection prompts to help you work through each issue’s questions.
- The Five Paths to Leadership® self-assessment to explore your leadership strengths and development areas.
- A broad library of on-demand webcasts and self-paced courses created by and for higher education professionals, including resources designed for deans and department chairs, as well as topic areas like supervision, faculty vitality, workplace culture, advancement, service excellence and more.
- A dedicated Partner Success Manager who can help curate resources aligned to your team’s goals.
- Discounts on in-person workshops and access to select premium programs.
- Opportunities for custom workshops and executive coaching. The costs are not included in membership; additional costs may apply.
