Showcase invites researchers to share new technologies and discoveries
A platform to address pressing challenges in Kansas and beyond.
As part of the university’s strategic imperatives to expand our research enterprise and strengthen industry engagement, Kansas State University will hold a Technology Innovation Showcase on Oct. 27 at the Stanley Stout Center. This opportunity will build on K-State's reputation for impactful, grant-funded innovation by offering a platform for researchers to share discoveries that address pressing challenges in Kansas and beyond.
The showcase, co-hosted by the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics, or ID3A, and the Kansas State University Research Foundation, KSURF, provides inventors with opportunities to share their technologies with potential investors, industry partners or commercialization support.
"This Showcase is designed to help minimize the gap between what our researchers are working on and what the industry actually knows exists," said Eric Buda, KSURF’s director of new venture development. "KSURF helps bridge that by moving technologies toward commercialization, exploring applied research partnerships, or connecting teams with the right partner to test their work against a real problem."
Technologies for the Showcase should align with ID3A’s core competencies but are not required to be rooted in agriculture. The competencies are:
- Artificial intelligence
- Computer vision and machine learning
- Data analytics
- Data visualization
- Technology adoption
- Technology development
“Some of the most transformative ideas begin in our laboratories, but their true value is realized when they create impact beyond campus. The Technology Innovation Showcase is designed to connect K-State innovators with the partners, resources, and opportunities needed to accelerate the journey from discovery to deployment,” said Ajay Sharda, an ID3A director and professor of biological and agricultural engineering.
Interested participants should apply online by Friday, July 10. For questions, contact Rebecca Dale, ID3A program manager, at rebeccad@k-state.edu.
