Detect skin cancer early: Get screened at Lafene Health Center
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., affecting an estimated one in five Americans during their lifetime. To support early detection, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes, Lafene Health Center is offering a skin cancer screening clinic for K-State faculty and staff July 13-15.
A $50 screening charge will be submitted to the participating employee's insurance. Eligible employees may have no out-of-pocket cost as the screening is covered as a preventive service. Lafene is in-network for the State Employee Health Plan, or SEHP, but not for Medicaid or Medicare; employees with other insurance plans should verify coverage with their provider.
Screenings will be conducted in private exam rooms by Rosanne Kreller, Lafene's certified dermatology nurse practitioner. The exam includes a review of exposed skin areas, findings and recommendations for next steps, if needed. Appointments take about 10 minutes.
A limited number of appointments are available July 13–15. Schedule through the myLAFENE+ patient portal or by calling 785-532-6544. All K-State employees are eligible. Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment.
