May’s Water Wednesday to showcase student research and future water leaders
The final Water Wednesday of the academic year will spotlight student-led water research at K-State and the programs that help students turn curiosity into real-world impact.
All K-State faculty, staff and students are invited to attend this professional development opportunity. It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 13, in Hale Library, Room 181. Online registration is required, as space is limited.
Participants will learn about upcoming programming to benefit student engagement, including a new Connecting Across Topics, or CAT, Community focused on water and K-State’s Vertically Integrated Projects, or VIP, that will increase student access to research opportunities and applied learning with faculty mentors. Members of the Kansas Water Institute Student Water Fellows cohort will also share their experiences.
“When students are immersed in real water challenges, they become problem-solvers and future leaders,” said Susan Metzger, director of the Kansas Water Institute. “These authentic research experiences give them the confidence and perspective to make a meaningful impact.”
The Kansas Water Institute hosts Water Wednesday events each month, aiming to facilitate meaningful exchanges and showcase important work happening across campus. To request additional information, contact water@k-state.edu.
