Get your steps in with Walk Kansas

Human Resources' Faculty and Staff Well-being is partnering with K-State Extension to offer employees a discounted rate of $5 per person when they register for Walk Kansas. K-State employees planning to participate should register in the "Kansas State University" group designation.

Walk Kansas is an eight-week, team-based challenge running from March 22 to May 16. Employees are encouraged to join or form a team with coworkers, community members, neighbors, family or friends.

Throughout the eight weeks, you can track minutes or steps while doing your favorite physical activities, select virtual routes across Kansas, earn badges and enjoy friendly competition. Each team must have at least four members from any state or country. Participants may also choose to participate as a team of one.

Walk Kansas is entering its 26th year of operation. The program's success has grown from a local initiative to a statewide program. In addition to recording minutes of physical activity, participants can track fruit, vegetable and water consumption. This year's weekly Walk Kansas newsletters and webinars focus on workplace wellness tips.
