K-State joins Military Spouse Employment Partnership
Kansas State University was inducted last month as a partner in the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, or MSEP, at the program’s annual meeting. Established by the Department of Defense in 2011, MSEP seeks to boost military spouse employment by connecting spouses directly with employers offering rewarding careers that amplify their talents.
As a program partner, K-State can attend military-focused hiring and outreach events and access the MSEP Jobs Portal to review applicant resumes and actively recruit new employees.
These efforts help the university:
- attract high-performing, talented faculty and staff;
- continue to advance as a military-friendly school;
- and explore new pathways to build and sustain a next-gen land-grant workforce.
“K-State is committed to being the nation’s premier military-friendly institution,” said Col. Travis Habhab, executive director of Military and Veterans Affairs. “The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is an outstanding initiative that provides easier access and connections to employment opportunities at the university. With numerous employment opportunities across all specialties, K-State is proud to be a preferred employment partner for military spouses.”
K-State was recently recognized as a Top Ten Military Friendly School and a Top Ten Military Spouse Friendly School by Military Friendly.
The university's military support initiatives include the Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC programs, Military-Affiliated Resource Centers on both the Manhattan and Salina campuses, dedicated Veterans Affairs educational benefits support, and specialized offices at Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth.
