Knowledge in Action: K-State engagement on the national stage
Each year, the Engagement Scholarship Consortium, or ESC's, international conference brings together scholars, practitioners and partners who are transforming research, teaching and engagement into meaningful public good.
K-State's presence at the 2025 ESC conference showcased how community-engaged scholarship strengthens both communities and the university itself. From collaborative research to innovative teaching models, K-State presenters demonstrated how engagement turns knowledge into action and action into impact.
Now, with the ESC 2026 Call for Proposals open, Kansas State University faculty, staff and students will again have the opportunity to showcase their engagement efforts on the national stage.
To support continued participation at ESC's annual conference — taking place Oct. 7-8 at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville — the Office of External Engagement's Engaged Scholarship team invites faculty and staff to an engagement council session from 3-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the Leadership Studies Building, Room 123.
This event will highlight K-State colleagues who presented at ESC 2025 and offer practical insights for those considering a proposal for 2026. Attendees will learn about ESC’s awards, funding and professional development opportunities; hear best practices for proposal submission; explore presentation formats; and gain firsthand perspectives on the value of connecting with engagement scholars from around the nation.
Pre-registration is required. Questions about the session or the consortium may be directed to Mirna Bonilla.
