Connect across campus through ID3A's affiliate network

Kansas State University faculty and staff are invited to become affiliates with the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics, or ID3A. The affiliate program fosters collaboration across K-State campuses, colleges and departments and offers a range of benefits for participants.

ID3A affiliates gain access to a universitywide network of faculty and staff who share an interest in digital agriculture and advanced analytics. Affiliates receive priority consideration for research collaborations and may partner on educational opportunities such as workshops, trainings and micro-credentials. The program also offers opportunities to connect with peers through ID3A-hosted events and informal gatherings.

Paul Snider, engineering professor of practice and current ID3A affiliate, said he values the opportunity to communicate and collaborate with colleagues whose backgrounds and expertise complement one another.

"Our interdisciplinary interactions can foster new ideas and possibilities to serve and benefit the land-grant mission of the university," Snider said.

In addition to individual faculty and staff members, ID3A also welcomes K-State labs, centers and institutes as affiliates. Organizational affiliates benefit from increased visibility through ID3A communication channels, invitations to participate in events and conferences, potential funding opportunities, and opportunities to collaborate on research initiatives.

Josefina Lacasa, assistant professor of statistics and an ID3A affiliate, said ID3A's network and support have strengthened her engagement and teaching efforts, including several statistics workshops.

"ID3A is a unique community where high-level research meets genuine human connection," Lacasa said. "If you value working with and talking to great researchers who are also great people, this is the place to be."

ID3A is an interdisciplinary institute within the Office of External Engagement that connects faculty and researchers focused on addressing food, water, energy and environmental challenges in Kansas and around the world.
