Center for Child Development seeks advisory board members
The Center for Child Development is currently seeking new members to serve on its advisory board. Expertise and commitment to early childhood education are invaluable in shaping a professional, child-focused, and nurturing learning community for the children and families the center serves.
The center, on the Manhattan campus, provides full-day child care for children from birth through age 5. Housed in the School of Human Sciences within the College of Health and Human Sciences, the center is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment for up to 246 children and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Advisory board roles include:
- Parent representatives
- CCD staff representatives
- K-State faculty, staff or administrative representatives
- K-State student representative
Those interested in serving are encouraged to self-nominate by emailing bernihowe@k-state.edu with the subject line "CCD Advisory Board Nomination" by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. Please include your name, connection to K-State and/or the Center for Child Development, and a brief statement about your interest in serving.
New members will be notified by Nov. 17 and invited to a meet-and-greet at the Center for Child Development on Thursday, Dec. 4. Advisory board members attend quarterly meetings — held at 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of January, April, July and October — and provide input on policy, strategic initiatives and community engagement.
