K-State honors faculty with university distinguished professor title
Three K-State professors have been presented with the lifetime honor for their contributions to research, teaching and leadership.
Kansas State University has honored three professors with the title of university distinguished professor, the highest faculty title given by the university.
The 2025 recipients of this lifetime honor are David Auckly, professor of mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences; Pascal Hitzler, professor of computer science in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering; and Anna Marie Wytko, professor of music in the College of Arts and Sciences.
"The achievements of Drs. Auckly, Hitzler and Wytko reflect the depth of talent and dedication we have at K-State," said Jesse Perez Mendez, provost and executive vice president. "Their internationally recognized leadership in research, teaching and service drives us forward and helps define what it means to be a next-generation land-grant university."
University distinguished professors are appointed following a universitywide nomination and evaluation process conducted by the provost. The three faculty members receive a personalized plaque and medallion at the university's fall 2025 commencement ceremonies.
