As state and federal agencies become involved during the escalation of a response, non-traditional local level responders will be able to provide more effective support if they understand the terminology and response activities used to manage a high-consequence animal disease outbreak. This course will introduce non-traditional responders to the concepts surrounding the management of an animal disease outbreak, responder health and safety, and the principles of biosecurity and quarantine, euthanasia and disposal, and cleaning and disinfection. The ADRT course also assists in the integration of response efforts among responders across jurisdictions, lines of authority, and disciplines to provide more timely and effective response, and to minimize the effects of a high-consequence animal disease outbreak in a community, state, or across the nation.
