Music Major for a Day

This event is open to 30 juniors and seniors. If more than 30 students register, then participants will be selected by lottery. You will be contacted by email to confirm your spot.

Students will experience a typical day as a music major. Participants will have the opportunity to visit campus, observe classes and ensembles, talk with current music students, get advice on preparing to be a music major, ask questions to the faculty, and experience lunch at an on-campus dining facility.

Schedule

  • 8:45am: Check In at Kirmser Hall (McCain Room 204)
  • 9:00am: Welcome Event
  • 9:30am: 1st Class Visit
  • 11:30am: Student Showcase Rectial
  • 12:30pm: Lunch (provided) and Campus Tour
  • 3:30pm: Return Home or Optionally Attend Wind Ensemble Rehearsal

Parents

Parents are an integral part of the college process. Accordingly, parents are certainly allowed to attend with their student, though this day is geared towards high school juniors and seniors and parent attendance is not required.

Parking

Parking passes provided by the Music Program. License plate information must be provided when registering in order to receive a parking pass.
