When Can I Audition?

Auditions for ensembles are held during the first week of the Fall semesters. Please watch this page for information on signing up and what will be involved in the process.

Process

  • Open audition dates: Tuesday-Wednesday, August 25-26
    • For your audition, please prepare a short solo of any kind of music that shows off your voice. Our directors may also ask you to do some short vocal exercises to get to konw your individual voice better.
    • Concert Choir and Madrigal & Motet members from Spring 2026 do not need to sign up for an audition, but are required to attend callbacks.
  • Callback notices will be sent the evening of Wednesday, August 26.
  • Callback auditions
    • You will be asked to prepare Sicut cervus by Palestrina)
      • Prepare measures 1-25 on your voice part.
      • Be able to sing on the Latin text and on a neutral syllable in a one-on-a-part quartet.
      • Listen to a model recording of Sicut cervus
      • OPTIONAL OPEN REHEARSAL: Come learn the callback music on Monday, August 24 at 7:15pm in McCain 204 (Kirmser Hall)
    • Concert Choir callback: Thursday, August 27, 1:05-2:20pm (including returning returning members from Spring 2026)
    • Madrigal & Motet Ensemble callback: Friday, August 27, 1:30-2:20pm
  • Final rosters for Concert Choir and Madrigal & Motet Ensemble will be sent on Friday, August 27.

Scholarships
