About the School
The disciplines of music, theatre and dance have been integral members of the Kansas State University family for more than 100 years. These three performing art forms came together in 2012 to form the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, offering undergraduate, graduate, minors, certificates and performance experiences for students throughout the university's various academic landscape.
The school is home to more than 500 majors and minors and 50-plus faculty and staff. Additionally, more than 4,000 K-State students participate in our programs, and we have countless patrons and visitors at our hundreds of events throughout the year.
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance offers in-depth, quality, individualized instruction from world-class faculty in the performing arts. Our faculty have performed and taught around the world and they bring their vast experience and expertise to K-State students and the community at large. We are dually housed in the McCain and Nichols Halls, where you will find state-of-the art performing, classroom, rehearsal, studio, shop and laboratory spaces.
