Positions

Undergraduate Research

We always have opportunities for highly motivated undergraduate students to partake in our research endeavors. Undergraduate researchers initially get hands on experience in mosquito culturing techniques and lab maintenance. Additionally, and dependent on the student's aptitude and interests, we have a variety of molecular and biochemical research projects available. Please email Kristin Michel to set up an appointment.

Graduate Studies

We may have graduate research or teaching assistant positions available for highly motivated and qualified graduate students. If you think you might consider doing graduate work with us, please send Kristin Michel an email describing your background and interests. Our lab takes students through four different programs: Biology, Microbiology, Entomology, and Biochemistry. The structure of graduate training and financial support varies slightly across the programs, including differences in required coursework and whether or not laboratory rotations are available. However, program membership has very little impact on day-to-day life in the lab. Application deadlines are typically in December, although they vary slightly by Graduate program and from year to year. Mid-year applications are considered in Biology and Microbiology.

Postdoctoral Positions

Postdoctoral research positions may be available depending on funding situation and the background and interests of the applicant. Please send inquiries about postdoctoral research by email to Kristin Michel and include your CV and a brief statement of research background and interests.
