KLRC students receive MORE awards!

Abdulrahman Naeem and Abigail Parker each were awarded an Undergraduate Research Award from the Kansas State University College of Arts and Sciences for the fall 2019 semester. Abdul is investigating the function of a gene encoding a fatty acid desaturase on the composition of plant seed oil. Abigail is examining the role of a gene encoding an acyltransferase whose absence causes leaf senescence.

Daniel Hemphill, a horticulture student, who has been working at KLRC for almost two years, was recently named a McNair Scholar. The McNair Scholar program prepares student for graduate school. Daniel is working to determine the freezing tolerance of plants that were collected in locations around the world.
