| We will use short readings from notable autobiographies, such as Trevor Noah, Wes Moore, and Temple Grandin, as models for discussion of personal statement writing. We'll go through a multi-draft personal statement writing process and fine tune our skills at interpreting what is being asked for in various personal statement prompts. This course will help first-year students explore the world of undergraduate research at K-State. You’ll meet faculty and student researchers, learn how to read and share research, and build practical skills like communicating with mentors and understanding research ethics. You’ll develop a personalized action plan and gain the confidence to take your next step into research. |
