Robert E. Campbell Scholars
Named for Robert Campbell, the Campbell Scholarship is awarded to a select group of incoming, high-achieving, academically talented students in the University Honors Program (UHP) at K-State. Robert “Bob” Campbell, a first-generation student, studied business administration at K-State via the GI Bill after serving in WWII with the United States Army Air Corps (a precursor to the U.S. Air Force). After his 1950 graduation from the College of Business, he sold bonds before launching his own company, Robert E. Campbell Oil and Gas Operations, in 1963, which he operated for 56 years.
Campbell Scholar recipients are selected by a committee of campus and community leaders. Approximately 35 Campbell Scholarships are awarded annually. This scholarship is reserved for incoming University Honors students. Applications open each fall and recipients are notified in mid-January.
