Welcome to the November newsletter! We hope everyone is ready for the last stretch of the semester. Check out the rest of the newsletter for upcoming volunteer opportunities on an off campus.
Mobile Food Distribution
A Mobile Food Distribution will take place on Friday, Nov. 8. Volunteers will need to arrive to parking lot C1 (behind the KSU rec center) at 3:30 p.m., and the event will be done by 5:30 p.m.

Bluemont Elementary
Bluemont Elementary will be participating an inflatable walk through exhibit called body venture hosted by Kansas State Department of Education. During the time in the exhibit the students will be learning about healthy lifestyle choices.
They are in need of volunteers to help on the following dates:
Wednesday, Nov. 6
Able-bodied volunteers are required, who can help lift heavy items and help to set up the inflatable exhibit. This will be late afternoon/evening, exact time TBA.
8:45 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7
Volunteers will be working directly with our elementary students in reading prewritten scripts to the students or by helping to walk student groups through the exhibit.

Breakfast with Santa
An annual community event, that gives families a chance to play festive games, participate in crafts, and visit Santa. This is a great opportunity to help spread Christmas cheer at the Discovery Center.
Volunteers are needed at the following times:
- 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7
- 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14
Volunteers will help with food service, kids' activities, staffing various stations around the Center, cleanup, etc. Volunteers are asked to wear something festive - elf hats and aprons are provided. Breakfast is included for volunteers.

Stoneybrook Health and Rehab
Stoneybrook Senior Living is a family owned and operated retirement community in Manhattan, Kansas. They are looking for student volunteers to help with special events and those who are willing to go in and chat with the residents.
Some activities that need volunteers include bingo, nail salon, tea parties, and our artful making class.

PeaceFull Pantry
PeaceFull Pantry is looking for volunteers to help stock food pantry shelves on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9-10 a.m. This could be a one time or recurring opportunity.
Or, you could help shoppers navigate the pantry at the following times:
- 1:45-4:15 p.m. Sunday
- 4:45-7:15 p.m Monday
- 1:45-7:15 p.m. Tuesday
- 4:45-7:15 p.m. Thursday

Konza Student Table
To help fight food insecurity among K-State students, multiple community organizations have joined together to sponsor The Konza Student Table. This program provides a free, tasty and nutritious meal every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The program began September 2020 in the midst of COVID and is still going strong.
They need volunteers to make this happen, have a variety of positions, and would love your help. You can sign up as an individual or help out as a group.

Manhattan Arts Center
The Manhattan Arts Center is looking for new volunteers to get involved at their shows and around the theatre!
Ways to be involved:
- Volunteer as an usher, doing box office sales, or be a house manager for performances.
- Help with a theatre production making costumes, building sets, painting, running lights (we train you), stage managing, or - of course - acting.
- Gallery exhibit set-up, hosting the exhibit, and tear-down.
- Help with building maintenance, and cosmetic enhancements inside and out.
