le Food Distribution
HandsOn will be hosting a Mobile Food Distribution over the summer! The date is not confirmed, but keep your eye out for a registration link in the upcoming weeks!

Saturday of Service
8:40 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3
Join St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center for a day of service. Volunteer work includes helping out at a nursing home or helping someone move. Breakfast and lunch are provided to volunteers!
Here is the timeline for the day:
- Optional Mass - 8:08 a.m.
- Arrival and Breakfast - 8:40 a.m.
- Start at Worksite - 9 a.m.
- Return and Lunch - 11 a.m.

Boom Town Road Race
The City of Wamego is hosting their first ever Boom Town Road Race on Saturday, May 10! With race distances of a 5K, 10k, and Half-Marathon. Learn more about the event here.
Volunteers are needed to assist in the day with runner check-in and course monitoring (directing runners on the correct path). The race starts at 7:30 a.m., so there are volunteer times throughout the morning.

Stoneybrook Health and Rehab
Stoneybrook Senior Living is a family owned and operated retirement community in Manhattan, Kansas. They are looking for student volunteers to help with special events and those who are willing to go in and chat with the residents.
Some activities that need volunteers include bingo, the nail salon, tea parties, and our artful making class.

PeaceFull Pantry
PeaceFull Pantry is looking for volunteers to help stock food pantry shelves on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9-10 a.m. This could be a one time or recurring opportunity.
Or, you could help shoppers navigate the pantry at the following times:
- 1:45-4:15 p.m. Sunday
- 4:45-7:15 p.m Monday
- 1:45-7:15 p.m. Tuesday
- 4:45-7:15 p.m. Thursday

Konza Student Table
To help fight food insecurity among K-State students, multiple community organizations have joined together to sponsor The Konza Student Table. This program provides a free, tasty and nutritious meal every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The program began September 2020 in the midst of COVID and is still going strong.
They need volunteers to make this happen, have a variety of positions, and would love your help. You can sign up as an individual or help out as a group.

Manhattan Arts Center
The Manhattan Arts Center is looking for new volunteers to get involved at their shows and around the theatre!
Ways to be involved:
- Volunteer as an usher, doing box office sales, or be a house manager for performances.
- Help with a theatre production making costumes, building sets, painting, running lights (we train you), stage managing, or - of course - acting.
- Gallery exhibit set-up, hosting the exhibit, and tear-down.
- Help with building maintenance, and cosmetic enhancements inside and out.

Learn what HandsOn has been up to for the past month!
Mobile Food Distribution
On March 28 and April 11, HandsOn hosted volunteers at our Mobile Food Distributions. With the help of more than 70 volunteers and the food from Harvesters Community Food Network, we were able to distribute food to 450 households!
Service Summit
On March 29, K-State student organization leaders gathered at the first ever Service Summit to enhance and elevate student-led service initiatives across campus. We awarded 8 mini-grants to attendees of our event for a total award of $3,550. HandsOn will be hosting another Service Summit in the future, so keep your eye out for future opportunities!
People in Action Awards
Congratulations to this years recipients of HandsOn's People in Action Awards!
The Outstanding K-State Student Volunteer, a K-State student who has worked with HandsOn Kansas State and demonstrated exemplary service, is Teaghan Morton.
The Outstanding Student Organization, an organization that is recognized through K-State’s Center for Student Involvement and has been active with HandsOn K-State during the academic year, is the K-State Swim Club.
The Outstanding Community Organization, a group from the Greater Manhattan area that has partnered with HandsOn in order to meet a community need, is the Manhattan Emergency Shelter.
The Outstanding Service Champion, an individual from the Greater Manhattan area who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to volunteerism and service in response to a community need, is Tim May.
