Nonprofit leadership internship experiences
Ready to practice leadership in a way that makes a difference and grows your skills? An internship is a great way to do both! Check out these student stories about their past internship experiences.

Adelaide Easter
Nourish Together
“Interning with the Food and Farm Council (FFC) of Riley County and the City of Manhattan allowed me to develop the Flint Hills Food Recovery at K-State program independently. With FFC overseeing nine programs, I took the lead in integrating this program onto K-State’s campus. This internship showed me firsthand how challenging it is to implement sustainable systemic change.”

Katie Schwartzkopf
Girls on the Run
“The middle school girls I worked with taught me more than I could have ever expected. Their perspective on life was fresh and thought provoking. I always look forward to my Monday and Wednesday afternoons. I learned that middle school is hard! There is so much going on in these girls lives that they have to navigate. However, it was inspiring to see the girls build their confidence each practice. I am so thankful to be a positive influence in their lives, and vice versa.”

Layla Hood
Rock Springs Ranch
“After working for three summers at RSR I have had great personal growth and professional development. The connections I made and experienced I gained are unmatched to anything I have ever been a part of.”
