ALE Faculty Forum Series

You're invited to a faculty forum focused on our university initiative to expand Applied Learning Experiences (ALEs) across all disciplines. This initiative is a key part of our strategic plan, aimed at providing every student with an ALE by 2030.

We’ll share a 20-minute presentation covering the "why" and "what" of ALEs, including the drafted specific criteria needed for a course to receive an ALE tag. This is your chance to learn how you can modify an existing course or create a new one to be part of this important university-wide effort.

Each forum will begin at 12 p.m. in the Leadership Studies Building room 114. Lunch will be provided for the in-person sessions.

Join us for a session that works for you:

  • Sept. 11, 2025 (in-person)
  • Sept. 23, 2025 (in-person)
  • Sept. 24, 2025 (virtual only)

All faculty are welcome. We strongly encourage you to attend to learn how you can contribute to this initiative and help shape the future of applied learning at our university.

Please register and submit your questions via the link below. Pre-submitting your questions will help us ensure we address your specific needs and concerns during the presentation.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Faculty Workshops

Another resource available this semester for faculty are the ALE Faculty Workshop series.

The series is designed to provide faculty support in designing their courses to meet the ALE Graduation Requirement (in draft). The series of 4-5 sessions will give context and background of applied learning as well as support within the specified categories (including community-engaged learning, leadership, and global this Fall). The workshop series has been submitted as a micro credential (awaiting approval) for those who complete the series and a stipend of $500 is available for faculty who complete a workshop and submit a course for the Applied Learning Experiences course tag. Additionally, upon completing the workshop there is an opportunity to apply for financial support for your course to include transportation, equipment, etc.
