Applied Learning Experiences Announces Spring 2026 Faculty Workshop Series

by Loren Miller, Marketing & Communications Manager

This semester, join the Applied Learning Experiences (ALE) team for a dynamic lineup of workshops designed to help faculty incorporate applied learning experiences in their courses.

Each series consists of 4–5 engaging sessions led by expert faculty and staff across the six ALE categories.

"Our mission is to support applied learning opportunities for all students at K-State," said Craig Schroeder, the Julie and Roger Davis Executive Director of Applied Learning. "These workshops help create more paths for student success, thanks to the efforts of our dedicated faculty who provide a world-class education."

Faculty members who complete a workshop series and submit their course for ALE designation will earn a $500 stipend. Additionally, participants gain the opportunity to apply for further course support, including funding for transportation, equipment, and other essential resources.

Several of this semester’s workshops are currently being processed as micro credentials. Faculty completing these specific series will receive the credential once final approval is granted.

Schedules for Community-Engaged Learning, Global, and Internships are now available online. Dates for Creative, Leadership, and Research workshops will be announced soon.

“Applied Learning Experiences is here to support faculty every step of the way,” Schroeder added. “From course design to implementation, we collaborate to help students gain meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.”

Faculty can secure their spot by completing the online registration form.
