SDUR Graduate Assistant
This graduate assistant will support nationally competitive scholarships and undergraduate research activities and communication for Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research (SDUR) at the Staley School of Leadership. This graduate assistant will have the opportunity to support all of SDUR's work with a focus on the communications. The office maintains a website, a social media presence, staffs campus fairs, creates programming for events, develops stories on scholarship winners, distributes a newsletter, contributes to assessment and reporting and engages in other ways to raise awareness about its services and achievements. The graduate assistant also provides support for events as needed. The position starts in fall 2026.

Position Responsibilities
- Work with SDUR staff to support communications and media efforts for office.
- Coordinate social media efforts with partner units (Education Abroad, Staley School, DCM, etc.)
- Serve on Staley communications committee
- Edit the SDUR newsletter
- Support recruitment and other publicity via social media, website and other avenues for various nationally competitive scholarships, Undergraduate Research Amplification Program, the Developing Scholars program, the Undergraduate Research Symposium, the SDUR research and travel awards and other events and programs.
- Assist with alumni outreach research and other projects
- Help to update and maintain SDUR website
- Assist with managing communication and documents internal awards and events such as the travel/research awards and symposium.
- Design program materials (e.g. brochures, flyers, posters, etc.)
- Other tasks deemed appropriate
Qualifications
- Earned a bachelor's degree
- Social media experience
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Communications strategy experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, collaborate with others, and self-start
- Attention to detail
- Experience with Canva, Qualtrics, and other graphic design software
Committment
- This appointment is for the 2026-2027 academic year and is renewable.
- The assistantship requires that you maintain full-time status as a graduate student (minimum of 6 credit hours)
- The pay is $15 per hour and requires approximately 20 hours of work per week
