ALE Photography Intern
Position Title: Photography Intern
Department: Applied Learning Experiences
Reports To: Marketing and Communications Manager
Duration: Semester-based (Spring/Summer)
Hours: 3-5 hours/week (flexible around class schedule)
Compensation: $700 per semester
Position Overview:
This internship supports Kansas State University's Applied Learning Experiences (ALE) experience team in creating photo assets to promote the initiative. The intern will help with the production, creation, and editing of photos.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply communication and media production skills in a professional setting.
- Gain experience in marketing photography.
- Promote awareness of ALE opportunities across campus.
- Reflect on personal and professional growth through ALE documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture high‑quality photographs that highlight Applied Learning Experiences (ALE) programs, events, and student activities across campus.
- Assist in planning and coordinating photo shoots, including scheduling, location scouting, and gathering necessary equipment.
- Edit and retouch photos to ensure consistent visual style and alignment with ALE branding guidelines.
- Organize, label, and maintain a digital photo library for use in marketing and communications materials.
- Collaborate with the ALE team to align content with initiative goals.
- Complete ALE reflection submissions and planning forms as required.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled student at Kansas State University (any major welcome).
- Experience with photography equipment and production.
- Experience in post-production editing of photo assets.
- Interested in photography and visual content creation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and reflect on experiences.
