ALE Podcast Intern
Department: Applied Learning Experiences
Reports To: Marketing and Communications Manager
Duration: Semester-based (Fall/Spring/Summer)
Hours: 5–8 hours/week (flexible around class schedule)
Compensation: $1000 per semester
Position Overview:
This internship supports Kansas State University's podcast dedicated to promoting Applied Learning Experiences (ALE). The intern will help produce episodes that highlight student stories, internships, research, service-learning, and other experiential learning opportunities. This is ideal for students interested in media, storytelling, and campus engagement.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply communication and media production skills in a professional setting.
- Gain experience in podcasting, interviewing, and digital storytelling.
- Promote awareness of ALE opportunities across campus.
- Reflect on personal and professional growth through ALE documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, recording, and editing podcast episodes.
- Interview with students, faculty, and community partners involved in ALE.
- Draft episode scripts, show notes, and promotional content.
- Help manage podcast distribution and track engagement metrics.
- Collaborate with the ALE team to align content with initiative goals.
- Complete ALE reflection submissions and planning forms as required.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled student at Kansas State University (any major welcome).
- Interested in podcasting, storytelling, and experiential learning.
- Basic familiarity with audio editing software (training available).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and reflect on experiences.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Audition, or podcast platforms.
- Knowledge of social media marketing and audience engagement.
- Creative mindset and attention to detail.
