What is Cat Trax?

Submitted by Center for Student Involvement

Cat Trax is a new student engagement program recently launched by the Center for Student Involvement, targeted toward first-year students.

Cat Trax serves as a guide to help students transition to campus, connect with resources, build social capital, and develop career readiness competencies and skills. Cat Trax also allows the university to identify and collect data regarding campus engagement to support data-driven decision-making.

Accessible through OrgCentral, Cat Trax identifies experiences every K-State student should have and organizes them into checklists. In this 2022-2023 pilot program year, there are four checklists: Get Involved; Be Well, Be You; Get Career Ready; and Engage with Diversity. Students can earn points, prizes and more as they complete checklist items, such as joining a student organization, meeting with a peer financial counselor, uploading their resume to Handshake and attending KSUnite. Students will earn prizes throughout the year and their points will turn into tickets at an end-of-year giveaway event.

All students are invited to participate in Cat Trax. Freshmen are automatically enrolled in the program. Upperclassmen and graduate students can choose to participate by completing an opt-in request form. Students are encouraged to download the OrgCentral mobile app for on-the-go access to Cat Trax. This will allow them to use their phone to check in for events, search for upcoming activities, and track their progress through the checklists. Cat Trax can also be accessed via a web browser

You can request a Cat Trax presentation for your class or student group by completing our online form. For additional assistance or information, please contact the Center for Student Involvement in 114 K-State Student Union, studentinvolvement@k-state.edu or 785-532-6541.
