KAWSE announces Postdoctoral Research Travel Funds 2021-2022 Award recipient

Submitted by KAWSE

Anastasia Cooper, postdoctoral researcher in the entomology department, has been awarded the K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, or KAWSE, Postdoctoral Researcher Travel Fund Award for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The purpose of the KAWSE Postdoctoral Research Travel Fund Award is to enhance the postdoctoral researcher experience and enrich the lives of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. The awardee receives up to $500 to attend a conference in their area of research.

Cooper used her award to attend Entomology 2021, this year's annual meeting of the Entomological Society of America and will offer a KAWSE Career Chat for undergraduate and graduate students in STEM about some of the hidden barriers that women in STEM navigate.
