Charlie Award recognizes 13 advisors

Submitted by Beth Stuewe

The Charlie Award committee thanks the K-State community for helping us to award 13 amazing advisors over the course of the year. Without your nominations, we wouldn't have known the exceptional things our advisors are doing for their students, colleges, departments and the advising community.

We have awarded faculty and primary role advisors in four colleges, one student life department, and on three campuses. Below is a recap of who has won the award over the last year.

  • August 2019: Rebecca Dale, Global Campus.
  • September 2019: Sarah Howe, agronomy.
  • October 2019: Sara Boro, Education Abroad.
  • November 2019: Brandie Disberger, ag education.
  • December 2019: Gabe Bachura, sociology, anthropology, and social work
  • January 2020: Cherie Hodgson, ag economics.
  • February 2020: Nancy Habluetzel, open option/social science.
  • March 2020: Kaela Urquhart, pre-health, arts and sciences.
  • April 2020: Sheryl Cornell, computer science.
  • May 2020: Aida Farough, geology
  • June 2020: Caroline Skov, College of Business Administration.
  • July 2020: Jason Walls, psychology.
  • August 2020: Courtney Hoffman, Polytechnic Campus.

Don't stop now! To be able to continue recognizing amazing advisors, we need you to continue nominating those advisors who are making a difference in the lives of their students and doing great things for their colleges and departments. If you would like to nominate someone for this award, make sure to follow this link. Nominations are accepted year-round and can be received from anyone across campus. Once a nomination is received, it remains an active nomination for one full year.
