Period Project hopes to end stigma

Submitted by Kensley Fleischer

The Social Justice Alliance, a registered student organization, will host the Period Project, a two night come-and-go event designed to help end the stigma surrounding menstrual hygiene products by informing students about periods.

The event will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in 158 Kramer, the Multicultural Student Lounge, and 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in 133B Derby Dining Center. Free food and activities will be provided.

The cost of menstrual hygiene products can take a toll on people who are in the lower socioeconomic class. To help, students can donate these products to the Multicultural Student Center in Kramer or the Student Success Center in Derby until Sunday, March 31.
