Dan Kwong

The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art is collaborating with K-State Theatre to bring Los Angeles-based performance artist and storyteller Dan Kwong to campus as part of its Silk Road through Kansas program.

Kwong and Aileen June Wang will host an informal discussion on the exhibition, "Culture Mixmaster Zhang Hongtu," from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Beach Museum of Art.

Kwong's work as a writer and performance artist addresses cultural and gender identities, especially as they relate to Asian-American men. Wang is the curator of "Culture Mixmaster Zhang Hongtu," on view through Dec. 22 at the Beach Museum of Art.

Kwong's residency at K-State is co-hosted by the K-State Theatre program and the Beach Museum of Art.

The events are organized in partnership with the K-State Asian American Student Union.
